5 Items Needed For Your Bora Bora Trip

Bora Bora is an island located in the South Pacific Ocean and is part of French Polynesia. You’ve probably seen so many videos and pictures of Bora Bora on Pinterest and Tik Tok. It’s known for the amazing blue colored water and it’s rich culture. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted with Tahiti flowers, music, dancing, and of course, big smiles! If the picture above doesn’t convince you that Bora Bora should be on your bucket list than I’m not sure what will!

We’ve come up with a list of 5 items you should bring with you to Bora Bora when (not if) you go.

1. Sun Protection

Bora Bora is located in a tropical region with strong sunlight. Bring high SPF sunscreen to protect your skin from the intense sun. Additionally, pack a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and lightweight, long-sleeved clothing for extra sun protection.

2. Proper Swimwear

Given the island’s breathtaking lagoon, you’ll likely spend a significant amount of time in the water. Pack multiple swimsuits, snorkeling gear (if you have your preferences), and water shoes to fully enjoy the coral reefs and marine life. You’ll be swimming and lose track of time. Bring comfortable bathing suits (and many of them!)

3. Waterproof Phone Case & Camera

With the stunning scenery both above and below the water, you’ll want to capture your experiences. Ensure your electronics are protected from water by bringing a waterproof phone case or a dedicated underwater camera.

The last thing you want to happen is to drop your new iPhone in the water and feel stranded. Maybe you could find some rice, but I wouldn’t count on it!

You can’t go wrong with a GoPro (from personal experience). It’s not necessarily the cheapest option out there, but it’s definitely worth it to make sure you capture all the amazing moments from this special trip.

4. Comfortable Footwear

Casual resort wear is appropriate for most occasions. Don’t forget comfortable walking shoes or sandals for exploring the island. Bora Bora is a place where sandals and comfortable footwear are encouraged at all times! Last thing you want is blisters on your heels or the bottom of your feet hurting all day and ruining the trip!

5. Passport Holder

We’d highly recommend getting a passport holder / wallet for your travel. It will keep things more organized, will protect your passport should you drop it and from general wear and tear, and you can even buy some with RFID block technology to keep your information safe.

We recommend all those products for your trip to Bora Bora. We hope you enjoy your trip and let us know on Pinterest how it went!
